Stephen C. Kane is a board-certified physician in family medicine and general preventive medicine and public health. His work sits at the intersection of carceral health, MOUD policy, psychiatric care in custody, and the structural determinants that make incarceration a public health crisis. He has engaged in legislative advocacy, policy development, and academic work on these topics.
Outside of clinical and policy work, Stephen is an artist whose creative practice intersects with themes of social justice, abolition, and the politics of the body. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
